Welcome to Big Brain Theatre
Committed to the bit
At Big Brain Theatre, we are dedicated to allowing improvisers, actors, and performers to express their ideas, showcase their talents, and play. Our platform provides a space for creative individuals to connect, collaborate, and bring their artistic visions to life no matter how ridiculous it may seem. In fact, the more ridiculous the better! I dare you, mothertrucker, I DARE YOU! Contact us, or join us at show to see how you can get involved!
Our Team
Our team at Big Brain Theatre is comprised of passionate individuals who live and breathe the performing arts and excrete mostly bits and goofs. We are always striving to support and uplift the creative community, and we take pride in curating new and creative experiences. Get to know the talented minds behind our platform and discover the driving force that fuels our commitment to artistic expression by coming to our shows and jams!
Liam MacDougall

Liam MacDougall is a co-founder of Sparkle City Improv and oversees the education arm of the company. This means building curriculum for training both active members and shepherding new initiates into the world of improv, as well as facilitating workshops and trainings for businesses and non-profits. He is a professional actor and teacher/coach of acting and improvisation. He has over 18 years of acting experience and is a graduate of Brown University’s MFA acting program (Class of ’22). He is trained in stage combat, movement, and clown work. He encourages you to come on out in whatever way suits you! Attend a show or become an improviser, but just make sure you do it quick. The Abyss is coming. And it’s coming fast.
Iman Qatawi
Iman Qatawi is an actor, improviser, stage manager, writer, jack of all trades and master of none from Spartanburg, SC. As the Production and Marketing Manager for Big Brain Theatre, she is constantly searching for unique and interesting projects to produce. She also oversees social media and community outreach for the company. Iman is committed to creating spaces where artists are encouraged to take big risks. There are no wrong answers—there is only the Abyss. And the Abyss is forever.
Jim Hunt
Five minutes into his first improv class, Jim Hun realized, “Oh this is just how I think/talk/live.” As the Corporate Business Manager for Big Brain Theatre, he is thrilled to learn more about your team’s needs, and help you solve your most vexing problems. After 20 years working in businesses ranging in size from huge multi-national to brand new starts ups, he is delighted to blend the communication and team building teachings of improv with the plethora of other problem solving tips and tricks (design thinking, lean transformation and waste reduction, red teaming, family systems, and more) he’s picked up along the way. He also would like to warn you that the Abyss is indeed coming, and he can help you avoid it, but he can’t pull you out once you fall in.
